Who is Mark G. Strauss?

I am a lawyer who was lucky enough to have his destiny shaped for him. I graduated college and law school from Washington University in St. Louis in the 1980s. In between college and law school, when I was working to pay for law school, two of my best friends’ fathers got mesothelioma Asbestos Injury Law. When I learned that mesothelioma was caused by asbestos exposure, my interest was peaked. I began to look into what asbestos was and what an asbestos exposure meant. I was fortunate enough to get to watch the first asbestos trials in Madison County, Illinois in the 1980s.

After law school, I worked at several law firms, including the one that had just filed the only class action for asbestos victims in the 1990s. This provided many opportunities for me to interview hundreds of individuals all over the US and Europe. I learned so much, that I felt confident asking unions whose members had sprayed and hand applied asbestos in NY to offer my name as one of the lawyers to call when their members got asbestos disease.

My success in gaining the confidence of labor unions to suggest members to call me allowed me the opportunity to help start a nationally recognized law firm that helped those with asbestos diseases for 17 years ( until my partner retired). During those years and after, my focus has been being very detail oriented to learn exactly how individuals were exposed to asbestos in an effort to obtain maximum compensation for them.
